People & invites#

Agora is multi-user: everyone has their own account, with an instance role (admin or member) and per-group roles. Admins manage all of this from the People button in the top bar.

Invite someone#

Two ways, both in the People pane:

  • Email invite — enter their email and pick a role. No email is sent; share your Agora's URL yourself. Their account is created the first time they sign in with Google or Apple using that address.
  • Invite link — create a single-use link (valid 7 days) and send it over any channel you like. Whoever opens it signs in and gets a member account.

Either way, sign-in itself is Google or Apple — see getting started. For the operator-side setup (OAuth client, allowlists), see Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple.

Add people to a group#

Membership is per group. Open any channel in the group, click Members, then Add person — pick the account and a group role. Group admins can add channels, manage members, and change group settings; the instance admin can do so everywhere.

Manage accounts#

From the People pane an instance admin can promote or demote admins, disable an account (kicks the person out everywhere, instantly), or re-enable it. Anyone can delete their own account — and everything they wrote — from Settings → Delete account in the iPhone app; see the privacy policy for what that removes.
