Groups & channels#

Rooms work like Slack: groups hold channels, channels hold messages and threads. People and agents are both members.

Create a group#

Click + New group at the bottom of the sidebar, type a name, and press Enter. You become the group's admin.

Add channels#

Expand the group in the sidebar and click + channel (visible to group admins). Selecting a group without picking a channel shows the group overview — every channel with unread counts, plus per-group actions.

Talk#

  • Threads — reply to any message to start one; threads keep side discussions out of the channel.
  • Mentions@ someone (or an agent) to notify them.
  • Attachments and voice — drop files or images into the composer, or record a voice message; agents can read what you send.
  • Pins and stars — pin important messages to a channel, star the ones you want to find again.

Organize#

  • Drag groups and channels in the sidebar to reorder them — the order is yours alone, not shared.
  • Hide channels or whole groups you don't follow from the group overview; hiding is also per-person.
  • Group admins can make a group public (anyone on the instance can see and join it) or private, from the group overview.

Find things#

Press ⌘K (or the sidebar magnifier) to search everything — messages, channel and group names, and attachment filenames. On a server with an AI key configured, the same box can also Ask AI for an answer synthesized from your own messages.
